welcome

At Dr. Randolph's Ageless and Wellness Medical Center, we believe that informed patients are healthy patients.  That’s why we’re committed to helping you understand the benefits of bio-identical hormones vs. the dangers of synthetic hormone replacement.

  1. An eight year National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study of the synthetic hormone Prempro called the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) was halted after only five years due to the study’s finding that use of Prempro was linked with an increased risk of breast cancer, stroke, heart attacks and Alzheimer’s disease.

  2. A 1995 article in The American Journal  of Obstetrics and Gynecology stated that even short-term use of Premarin increased the risk of breast cancer by 40%!

  3. A 1995 Nurses’ Health Study (one of the largest studies to date) acknowledged that women taking synthetic estrogen alone had a 36% increase in risk of breast cancer; those on synthetic estrogen plus progesetin had a 50% increase; and those on progestin alone had a 240% increase.   Women who had been taking estrogen and progestin for 5 to 10 years had a 45% increase in their risk of breast cancer.

  4. In contrast, a 2004 study published in the International Journal of Cancer showed that women using bio-identical progesterone (not synthetic progestin) actually decreased their risk of breast cancer by 10%.

  5. The 2002 Physician's Desk Reference (PDR) acknowledges the side effects of the synthetic hormone Premarin: endometrial cancer, breast cancer, blood clots, uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, weight gain, mental depression, edema, changes in libido, gallbladder disease. The average weight gain for most women who were placed on synthetic hormones was 20 to 30 pounds.

“Over 38 million American women are now entering perimenopause or menopause, and they are seeking safe and efficacious solutions to treat their symptoms.”
